Don't Delay - The clock is ticking
It is important to recognize that SR&ED submissions must be made within 18 months after the year end date of the year in which expenditures occurred. If you do not file your SR&ED claim within this timeframe YOUR CLAIM IS LOST AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RECOVER THOSE SR&ED EXPENDITURES.
Reporting Deadline The reporting deadline to file is 12 months after the your filing due date for the year in which the expenditure was incurred.
Corporations A corporation is required to file an income tax return within six months after the end of the taxation year. The corporation's reporting deadline is 12 months after the corporation's filing due date. Therefore, a corporation will have 18 months after the end of the taxation year in which an SR&ED expenditure was incurred to file their SR&ED claim.
